"May 7th again": Luis Enrique thinks of Dortmund and relies on spectacle

Paris St. Germain is once again reaching for the trophy. To finally eliminate Arsenal from the final, the French team isn't changing anything, regardless of the consequences.

The question about his bike rides posed fewer problems.Luis Enrique , however, didn't want to take credit for regularly cycling to the training ground. "It's only nine kilometers," said the 54-year-old, "it's good for my physique." He found it more difficult to answer the question about the keys to success against Arsenal. "A good question—I don't know," he said frankly. "There could be many keys, as was the case in the first leg."
One of them was that PSG remained true to its style of play in London. A team characterized by its willingness to run and aggressiveness, which ultimately had more shots on goal and more possession than its opponents, even in an away game in a Champions League semi-final. Paris prefers to act rather than react.
Hakimi announces high pressing despite cushionThe French will play the return leg with this same confidence, Achraf Hakimi emphasized. The right-back announced a "high press" despite the cushion. "We've been doing that since the start of the season, and we should continue doing it and not let up. The coach has made it clear that we won't change our style of play—win or lose."
Whether this consistency will be rewarded or the lack of flexibility punished remains to be seen. The coach, too, left no doubt that the usual course will be maintained. "We want to offer the fans attractive football and a show, because that's what football is – a spectacle. That's what people pay for, even if they go to the movies or some other show," said Luis Enrique.
"I've always said we won't play for a draw. We want to show that we're better." There won't be anything "extraordinary or special" to see, especially since Ousmane Dembelé doesn't have to be replaced. The top scorer trained fully for the past two days and will definitely be available .

The fact is: PSG's style of football has served them well so far, winning the French championship, reaching the cup final, and once again aiming for the trophy. Just like last season's Champions League, when Borussia Dortmund beat the French side 1-0 twice, thwarting their hopes of reaching the final.
What will May 7 be like this time?Luis Enrique remembers the second-leg defeat all too well—even the identical date. "May 7th again," he said, "that wasn't a very nice day. Now I have another chance for the next celebration. But if not, I'll accept it without a problem."
Hakimi hopes to learn from last year's results. "It's reassuring that we were already in the semifinals last season because we know what we did well and what we didn't do so well," said the former Dortmund player. "We know what we have to do."
